Sommelongue is a vineyard located on North of Orange, at ten kilometers North of Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

André BRUNEL bought this vineyard in 1990 to another grower. It’s a long piece of land (400 meters) planted with 80% Grenaches, 10% Syrah, 10% other Rhône varieties including Mourvèdres, Cinsaults and pink Clairettes. The vines are 40 years old and grow on a soil made of clay and gravels. There are cultivated in a very traditionnal way, head purning, using no chimical fertilizers and picking the grapes by hand at their full maturity.

Our wines are vinified in the traditional manner. After maceration, the wine is aged in oak barrels for the Syrah and in enamelled vats for the Grenache and other grape varieties for almost one year before they are bottled. Bottling is realised without filtering as to conserve its natural intensity of flavour.
