Product Details
The Bird in Hand winery & olive grove is planted in the mineral rich soils of the 1879 Bird in Hand goldmine in the Adelaide Hills. The Nugent family’s estate grown range of super premium environment friendly olives, oil and wine are widely recognised as South Australia’s finest. Winemaker Andrew Nugent classifies the wine range into one of three old ‘goldmine’ names: Nest Egg, Bird in Hand, Two in the Bush.

The Nest Egg label is reserved for the most outstanding wines of the vintage, regardless of variety.
 
The Cabernet was outstanding in 2004 and we created individually numbered bottles.

Matured for twenty one months in tight grained French oak (30% new), this extremely limited wine will cellar exceptionally well and reward the patient and discerning collector.
 
As the wine is unfiltered and unfined to maximize flavour, it may throw a crust. We recommend double decanting to increase your enjoyment.
