Boucarut was formally called Bos-carut or Bois carut, a small quarter planted by vineyards in the town of Roquemaure which dates back to 1845.Christophe Valat acquired this property in 1988. A modern winery equipped with thermo-regulated stainless steel vats capable of producing up to 4000 cases of AOC Lirac and Côtes du Rhone was built on the premises. For more than ten years Christophe Valat has set a premium on using natural wine growing methods and respect for the environment particularly by adopting the use of organic manure, weeding, ploughing, training vines on wires and pest management.
