Product Details

The Estate of Chatelard is established as a part of French history, Vines have been cultivated here since the time of Charlemagne in the VIII Century. During the French Revolution the chateau was besieged and devastated and was rebuilt in the 18th century. In the vinification process the natural characteristic and espression of each grape type is treated as an absolute priority.

GRAPE VARIETY : Gamay

The grapes are vatted manually in whole bunches as they were in times gone by. Fermentation takes place at low temperatures to maintain the freshness and fruit aromas that are the unique characteristics of Beaujolais Villages. During vinification and after a tasting, we may carry out a light punching down of the cap into the juice. Each terroir is vinified separately and then blended with the others according to their different characteristics.
