Product Details
The Estate of Chatelard is established as a part of French history, Vines have been cultivated here since the time of Charlemagne in the VIII Century. During the French Revolution the chateau was besieged and devastated and was rebuilt in the 18th century. In the vinification process the natural characteristic and espression of each grape type is treated as an absolute priority.
 
GRAPE VARIETY : Gamay
 
After sorting the grapes are transported in 50kg containers and vatted in whole bunches. The grapes are immersed for 12 to 16 days in their own juice to extract tannins and a rich and complex variety of other elements. After a slow, non-aggressive pressing, the wine is then matured on the lees.
