Product Details
A large and very beautiful estate dominating the Dordogne valley just south of Bergerac, owned by the De Bosredon family for over 150 years. Chateau Belingard is steeped in history dating back to the Celts some 3000 years ago. The place was then called Belingaard or the ‘Garden of God’. The druids also left a sacrificial stone, still well preserved today in the garden of the Chateau. The gentle slopes are considered one of the finest sites for Monbazillac, a much neglected great sweet wine for which Laurent de Bosredon is trying to re-establish a world class reputation. The amount produced is still small but larger quantities of excellent, well priced Bergerac red and white are also made. The dry white is constantly referred to by Robert Parker as the best value available today.
