"Cuvée Erigone" is an impenetrable black colour, with a powerful, brooding nose of black fruit, spices, liquorice, roasted meat and blood. The palate shows serious concentration and a lot of class. Ripe fruit, rounded tannins and sweet vanilla oak all contribute to a rich, velvety texture. This is definitely a full-bodied food wine, but it retains an elegance right through to the complex and persistent finish. Can be approached now, or cellared for many years.

A hidden gem in the heart of the Madiran appellation, Domaine Laffont has 3.3 hectares of the best south and southeast facing hillside vineyards at Maumusson. The tradition is full and rich a perfect accompaniment to delicious cuisine. The oak-aged cuvee, known as Erigone is concentrated and classy, and puts many a Bordeaux at twice the price to shame.
