Bodegas Consejo de la Alta is located at the heart of Rioja Alta, flanked by the Najerilla and Ebro rivers and the Sierra de Moncalvillo. Its unique soils and microclimate make it a privileged area for growing quality grapes. Our main asset are the 140 hectares of vineyards planted with carefully selected, old vines. Practically all the fruit harvested is Tempranillo, with small amounts of Graciano and Mazuelo —all native grape varieties.
Cask ageing has replaced the purplish hues of its garnet-red colour with a ruby-red rim. It is made mainly from Tempranillo grapes that contribute most of its aromas and flavours. Aged for 12 months in American oak barrels
