Georg Muller established the estate at the end of the 19th Century. In 1913, Georg Muller donated the wine estate, which by then had an excellent reputation and was well known far beyond the borders of the Rheingau, to his home community of Hattenheim. The city decided to privatise the estate in 2003, and is now under the direction of Peter Winter, a VDP member who endevours to achieve the highest quality possible.
